Beyonce Knowles is a member of the R&B group Destiny's Child and is
one of today's most known female superstars. This is a brief
biography introduction to this bootylicious princess.
Beyonce is praised
for her wildly inventive presentations in both music and film
and is very well respected for her down to earth persona. Born
on 1981, Beyonce Giselle Knowles began performing at a very
early age when she was about 7. She focused on both dancing and
singing in the church choir and was natural at what she was
doing. She and her cousin, Kelly Rowland met Latavia Roberson
during that time and a trio was formed with Letoya Luckett
ultimately leading to the greatest R&B group of all time -
Destiny's Child.
The group made its
debut in 1990 and within 10 years experienced both personal and
political highs and lows. By 2002, the group sold more then 33
million records worldwide and appeared unstoppable.
Knowles became the first female artist and second woman ever
to win the annual ASCAP Pop Songwriter of the Year Award. An
appearance in the MTV drama Carmen: A Hip Hopera followed, but
it was her role as Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers in
Goldmember in 2002 that eventually moved Knowles from the stage
to the screen. A guest spot on Jay-Z's 03 Bonnie Clyde was
equally popular when it appeared in October. In 2003, she shed
her last name and rejoined Jay-Z for her proper debut single,
Crazy in Love. Beyonce's debut album - Dangerously in Love,
which appeared in June 2003, featured collaborations with Sean
Paul, Missy Elliott, and Outkast.
